I made bacon risotto and stovetop potatoes tonight for dinner. It was edible, but a disaster. I prepared an edible disaster. Chef Ramsay would tel l me to ‘f*** off’ and ‘get the f*** out’ of the kitchen. My mother ate it anyway in all its unevenly prepared glory. She’s good people.
Note to self: use heavy cream in the risotto next time and make sure you have enough rice! Don’t mix rice at different stages of completion; it ruins the consistency of the dish. Bush league!
It was so close to being genuinely good, that risotto. The potatoes and bacon were pretty delicious, though, I have to say.
